Human Concerns
denotes activities that teens can participate in
Human Concerns Core Committee: Coordinates committees affiliated with projects providing help to those in need in our parish family, local community, and beyond through education and assistance. Meets the third Tuesday of the month August through May. Adult parishioners are welcome.

Needs Tree: Core committee members prepare request cards and sort gifts for the needy. This is done the third Tuesday of the month from October through December.

B.A.G. Weekend: Volunteers hand out bags to parishioners the last weekend of October with a list of personal care items attached for St. Joseph’s Food Pantry. The first weekend of November volunteers help load the filled bags onto the Food Pantry truck.

CROP Walk: Core committee members sign people up to do the Ecumenical walk for hunger that takes place in the fall.

Respect for Life Core Committee: Provides educational opportunities for St. Mary Parishioners regarding life issues and encourages support for local pro-life activities. All parishioners welcome. Meetings are monthly September through May.

Collection for Mother and Unborn Baby Care: Volunteers set up collection boxes and deliver new/used maternity and baby items in the fall. Adult parishioners welcome.

Bowl for Life: This fundraiser benefits our local crisis pregnancy center. Volunteer bowlers gather sponsors and bowl on a Saturday in October. All parishioners welcome.

Mother’s Day Rose Sale: Volunteers sell roses after Masses. All parishioners are welcome. A volunteer is also needed to coordinate this event.

March for Life Reception: Volunteers to set up, serve and clean up for the reception following the March for Life in January. All parishioners welcome, including students needing service hours.

Special Liturgies: Volunteers are needed to plan and participate in special liturgies on a Sunday in October for Respect Life Month and in January to commemorate Roe v Wade anniversary. All adults welcome.

Father’s Day Kisses: Volunteers handout Hershey kisses to dads after all Masses as a thank you for life.
