Children's Church: Open to preschool children 3-5 years. Meets at 9:30 AM Sunday mornings during the school year. Any adult parish member (age 16 and older) may teach a class or help coordinate our program. Younger members (age 10-15) help out as classroom aides.
- Interparish Religious Formation Board (IPRF): Pastor, designated staff members and appointed parishioners from St. Mary and St. Joseph parishes establish policies and monitor the program which serves children from both parishes in grades K-12 who attend public school. This Board also coordinates sacramental programs for all students K-12. Meets every other month.
The Interparish Religious Formation Program needs catechists, aides, hall monitors, etc. to help on Wednesday evenings September through May.
- Catechist (Gr K-12): Prepare and present a weekly lesson to young people. Share faith under constant guidance, support and training of coordinators. Time commitment averages 3˝ hours per week, which includes preparation, Wednesday evenings 4:20-5:40 PM or 6:20-7:40 PM. Substitute Catechists should be available to present a prepared lesson to young people when a regular catechist is unavailable. Time commitment varies.
- Catechist Aide (Gr K-8): Assist catechists with the students during class time. Time commitment Wednesday evenings 4:30-5:30 PM or 6:20-7:30 PM.
- Special Needs Catechist: Prepare and present a weekly lesson to young people. You should be a faith filled person who by education or personal care-giving experience (autism, profound hearing loss, ADHD) is aware and able to work with children/teens in a catechetical setting (small group or one-on-one).
- Hall Monitor/Office Staff/Babysitting: Assists the Coordinator at Catholic Central, St. Joseph Middle School or St. Joseph Friary during class time on Wednesday evenings 4:20-5:40 PM or 6:20-7:45 PM to insure the safety/security of students and assist with support services.
- Parking Lot Monitor: Insures the safety of children in the parking lot of Catholic Central 5:20-5:45 PM and 7:20-7:45 PM. This person moves traffic through the designated entrances/exits of the back parking lot.
- Catholic Education Celebration Committee: Helps plan the liturgies, events, activities surrounding our parish celebration of passing on our faith to our kids – catechesis. Time commitment includes monthly meeting October through January, plus some work outside of the meetings.
- Youth Ministry: Provides young people (grades 6-12) from St. Mary and St. Joseph parishes with opportunities for faith formation, leadership development, social activities, retreat opportunities, and service projects. Adult volunteers are encouraged to help provide guidance to all our youth.
- Adults to Help with Youth Retreats for Gr 6-11: Chaperone, small group discussion leader, be a witness speaker, or assist retreat director. Participate with students. Time commitment varies – day retreats on Saturdays.
- Adult Stewardship Advisor for Students in Gr 9-11: Serve as an advisor for various student service projects, trips and/or activities. Through phone contacts, mentor students regarding the service commitments they have made and their participation in their service project. Time commitment varies.
- Adult Chaperone for Youth Ministry Events for Students in Gr 6-12: Help chaperone a variety of social events throughout the year. Time commitment dependent on need and availability.
- Adults to Serve on “Celebrate Youth” Committee: Help develop and design programs of interest to youth in Grades 6-12 in the parishes. Time commitment varies – but would average a meeting a month and possible presence at the events.

- Interparish Adult Enrichment Committee: Plans and suggests activities to enrich the faith life of the adults of St. Joseph and St. Mary Parishes. Meets the second Monday evening of the month, August-May. Adults of all ages welcome.
Babysitting for Interparish Adult Enrichment Events: Adults and teens are needed for several of the Adult Enrichment events where parents could not attend without babysitting support. Volunteers would be called on an as needed basis.
