denotes activities that teens can participate in
Parish Health Ministry: Health Team Members: Assist the parish in embracing its healing mission through home visits and/or phone calls to assess needs and match volunteers to meet those needs. The team works closely with the Parish Nurse and the Pastoral Associate meeting the first Monday of the month and as needed. Health professionals and other adult parishioners with time, interest and energy are welcome.

Health Education/Teaching Presenters: Help parishioners: achieve health and wellness with information on medical issues, updates and concerns; address health care, medical resources and support groups available in our community. All parishioners with medical knowledge or background are welcome.

Care Team Leader: Preferably someone with a medical background who receives parishioner needs referred from the Parish Nurse. You will meet and interview those parishioners to decide needs which church volunteers can help with. You then coordinate the volunteers (jobs & times) for as long as needed.

Youth Volunteers: Assist in transportation, yard work, simple housekeeping, reading, writing, errands, help with pet care, play cards, etc. for elderly from our parish. Ages 14-18 welcome. Service hours have been approved by Interparish Religious Formation (IPRF) and Xavier.

“Labor Out of Love:” Assist parishioners during or after hospitalization, crisis or illness with such tasks as yard work, shoveling snow, shopping, transportation, etc. Adult parishioners welcome on an “on call” basis.

Short Term Assistance: Help elderly or homebound with daily living needs. Follow up visits or phone calls to assess progress and needs. Commitment of time to be determined by adult parishioner volunteer.

Fill-in Respite Care: Assist in relieving family for 1-2 hours by sitting with family member who is ill, infirmed, etc. Training and counseling provided through Parish Nurse. Time and frequency to be determined by volunteer.

Visiting of Homebound Parishioners: Volunteer to visit homebound parishioner at least once a month throughout the year. Training is provided. All parishioners welcome.

Visiting Nursing Home Parishioners: Volunteer to visit one or two parishioners monthly in a nursing home. Training is provided. All parishioners welcome.

Distribute Communion to the Homebound: Volunteer is matched with homebound parishioner. Distribute Communion throughout the year as mutually agreed upon.

Adult Sacramental Preparation:
Catechists for RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): Discuss the Sunday Gospel once a month with adults wanting to become Catholic Christians. Sunday mornings from September through May. Training and guidance given by Pastoral Associate.

Sponsors for RCIA Adults: Volunteer is matched with person wanting to become a Catholic Christian. Sponsor provides support, interest and prayer. Encouraged to attend Sunday morning sessions as often as possible. Training is provided by Pastoral Associate.

Catechists for RCIA Students: Volunteer families with children who can give one Sunday a month from September through May. A Gospel plan for each session is prepared by Pastoral Associate.

Adult RCIA Guests: Volunteers are called upon once or twice over the winter months on Sunday mornings to share discussion with adults wanting to become Catholic. Sessions are directed by the Pastoral Associate.

Re-Membering Church Team: Assist individuals who have been away from active membership in the Catholic Church. Meet twice a month from September through May. All adult parishioners welcome.
