Dec 17: Day by Day with Father Bill

THURSDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT

Psalm 23 and a Medley of Christmas Carols by Marcie Alvis-Walker

LORD, you are my shepherd –
I want nothing more.
You let me lie down in
green meadows;
you lead me beside restful waters:
You refresh my soul.
All is calm; all is bright.
You are true to your name,
and you lead me along the
right paths.
Even if I pass through death –
dark ravines,
Myrrh is mine, it’s bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb
I will not be afraid, for you are
close beside me,
guarding, guiding, all the way.
Your rod and your staff –
They give me courage.
Yet in thy dark street shineth
The everlasting Light.
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.
You serve me a six-course dinner
right in front of my enemies.
You revive my drooping head;
my cup brims with blessing.
When I’m worried and
I can’t sleep
I count my blessings instead
of sheep
And I fall asleep counting
my blessings…
